Directorate of Employment and Training proposed to increase 1000 seats in existing Industrial Training Institutes. It is proposed to provide an amount of Rs.150.00 lacs in the year 2011-12. |

| State Government has decided to implement of the standard of national/international. Candidates looking for employment/self employment under the benefit of Government of India's PPP scheme, by way of public/private industries and Government joint efforts, Vocational Training activities can be started. For this purpose under Government of India's PPP scheme, ITI's can be upgraded the quality of training under state PPP scheme. For upgradation of 10 ITIs, a provision of Rs.850.00 lakh suggested. |
| Up gradation of Remaining Trade 37 CoE ITI |

| In Gujarat State, total 37 ITIs are being upgraded into Centre of Excellence with the financial assistance of Government of India / World Bank. In CoE ITIs, trainees have the advantage to become multi skilled worker by getting Quality Training. Such trained trainees can get the employment/self employment in Global Market. The above CoE ITIs are being upgraded in a prescribed CoE Sector / Trade. In each CoE ITI, a particular one sector and maximum six trades are being upgraded. Therefore only trainees of particular CoE Sector or six trades covered under upgradation have the advantage to utilize upgraded infrastructural facilities. Remaining trainees of same ITI cannot utilize the upgraded facilities. In result, mismatch being existed between the trainees of same ITI and CoE ITI. With a view to remove such mismatch, it is planned to upgrade the remaining trades of the each CoE ITI, which are not covered under upgradation under CoE Scheme. Rs.100.00 lakh estimated for upgradation of each ITI. Out of them expenditure of Rs.50.00 lakhs will be incurred during 2011-12. Accordingly, it is proposed to provide an amount of Rs.1850.00 lakhs for 37 ITIs (33 ITIs under General Scheme and 04 ITIs under Tribal Area Sub Plan). |
| Incentive to increase woman participation in skill training |

| To increase woman participation in Industrial Training Institutes, they should be provided motivation by giving more attractive stipend and tool kit. After successful training mostly for non-traditional and engineering trades in which women are generally not interested to take training, a stipend amount of Rs.500/- per month and tool kit worth Rs.5000/- per trainee can be provided. Accordingly, it is proposed to provide an amount of Rs.37.50 lakhs. |

| Capacity building of Instructor Training Scheme has come up by Chintan Shibir. Main purpose is Trainers Training. The Training Institutes is the only Institute in Vadodara in Gujarat to be modernize. Training literatures to be provided in Gujarati Language by giving Training to Trainers opting modernization. To provide study material and equipments for skill training of English language, soft skill etc, it is proposed to provide of Rs.50.00 lakhs. |

| To meet ever increasing demand for skilled manpower, at present Directorate imparts Vocational Training through 185 I.T.I.s with a seating capacity of 81221, 131 Grant in Aid Industrial Training Centres and 353 Self Finance Industrial Training Centres with seating capacity of 23196. ITIs / ITCs and S.F. are 669, with seating capacity of 117932, which is still not sufficient to cater the need of Skilled Workforce required for running and upcoming Industries. Directorate of Employment and Training proposed to improve the quality of training through third party assessment. A provision of Rs.61.00 lakhs proposed for the year 2011-12. |
