3. Financial & Physical achievement up to 10th Five Year Plan (2002-2007)
 

On-site emergency plans of all 497 MAH factories are prepared. Off-site emergency plan of all 25 districts have been prepared. All plans are rehearsed and updated once in a year. Rehearsal of off-site emergency plan is done in presence of concerned District Collector.

 

The implementation work of The Building & Other Construction Work has been started from June-2005. This is an additional work assigned to Director Industrial Safety & Health.

  All officers and employees have taken training in the subject of Computer, Administrative reform and V-Governance.
  All officers are given training regarding Disaster Management.
  Fatal accidents are reduced to 792 as compared to 1085 in previous five years. (27%)
  Non fatal accidents have reduced to 36108 as compared to 53,786 in previous five years. (32.87%)
  1123 more inspections are carried out as compared to previous five years.
  The department is given a target of collection of Rs. 50 Crores for the year ending March-2007. Department is hopeful to achieve the target.
  There is 14.23% increase in registered factories in last five years.
  Industrial Hygiene Laboratory team visited 1048 factories and 9565 samples were tested. Total 6989 workers were medically examined by Certifying surgeons of the department.
  A regional conference on Occupational Health was organized at Vadodara with a view to ensure safety health and productivity.
 

A State level disaster management campaign of 19 days was organized in all major industrial cluster of Gujarat to create awareness regarding health and safety among people. 16545 persons took part in the campaign.

  A State level safety conference is arranged every year. About seven to nine hundred participants take part every year.
  Health status of workers working in salt, asbestos and high noise producing industries was investigated.
  Additional 562 Physically Handicapped persons got employment in industries under the Physically Handicapped Persons Act.
  State Shram Awards are distributed to eligible workers every year.
  Officers of the department inspected all chemical, hazardous and medium and large industries minimum once in a year.
  During last five years, 9881 prosecutions were launched against different factories. 4076 cases are disposed with a fine of Rs. 78,44,285.00.
  Use of information technology is increased during five years.
  During last five years licence fee collected is Rs. 17,73,73,645.00.
  Three new offices each at Anand, Navsari and Gandhinagar are opened during 10th plan.
