The Gujarat Unorganized Labour Welfare Board (Except Agricultural Labours)

It is non statutory Board, Constituted in February 2007.
At present jurisdiction of the board includes three cities namely Ahmedabad, Surat (Corporation area), Jamnagar ( Urban area) for four identified trades. Agarbatti workersBrass Part Workers of JamnagarHawkers Rag pickers
At present 10,000 workers are registered.
A welfare scheme includes health camps, training programs, library schemes, awareness programs, medical facilities etc., will be started soon.
The said Board intends to commence following schemes in the year 2007-2008. 1) Skill development for the benefit of Unorganized Sector Workers. 2) Health checkup camps. 3) Medical aid for 24 hours hospitalization.4) Availability of children's magazines to the children of Unorganized Sector Workers.
The scope of the said Board will be enlarged and more and more trades and workers will be covered in future. New schemes will be introduced as and when required.
In the first instance Government officers from different departments are appointed as members of the board.
Labour Commissioner, Gujarat State is to chairperson and Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Gandhinagar is member secretary of the said Board.
Headquarter of the Board is at Shrambhavan, Khanpur, Ahmedabad.
