Almost one-third of the world’s population comprises children. Therefore, they deserve to be cared and protected to keep up and improve posterity. Children are important component of the social structure and the potential future careers of the culture. Unfortunately, the problem of child labour (especially, age group of 5-14 years) is existed in our country. Children receive a rude and unpleasant introduction to life. They are notonly lacking the basic necessities of life, but also are forced to spend a major part of the day working in inhuman and unhealthy conditions for a miserable pittance.
Nature has given childhood as a gift to human being. It is believed that childhood is an evidence of faith of the God in human being. If, child and labour jointly used then it is a greatest man made disaster on the earth and its long-term adverse effect on human kind. This is a natural process, that though who have a long life span, have long span of childhood, and less life have less childhood. But, human being have long life in comparison with other social/wild animal, even though some children have less span of childhood, one shall keep in mind that childhood comes only once in one’s life. Healthy child is the base of the healthy human society, if, he remains hollow then society remains weak. On weak base, none can construct multistoried building. So, for the bright future of society, its required proper nutrition, education, training guidance, protection, love and affection to have peace and wealth in the society.
Child labour occurs when children under the age of fourteen are used to do labour. Children are usually forced to do adult work to help provide for their families. The working conditions are poor and children usually suffer physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. They work long hours everyday and are unable to attend school, which is their fundamental right. |
