Focus on child labourers with special needs

Domestic Child Labourers
Specific needs of children belonging to poor income but asset rich households are to be addressed. Children, especially girl child find a myriad of work opportunities in the urban informal sector where family labour is prevalent in large number. Addressing the needs of domestic servants will need awareness generation among parents and employers as well as improving educational facilities. Actions to be taken for domestic child labourers -
.
Circulating lists of child labourers their families to concerned departments for their rehabilitation and income generation activities.

Issuing circular to all Chairmen of cooperative housing societies for not employing children under 14 years of age as domestic servants.

Providing viable income generating opportunities for the families of these children so that they in turn can be released from work. 45
Street Children
Types of Street children are generally two kinds (i) Children off the street and (ii) children on the street. Children off the street mean children living in families and spending much of their day time on streets. Children on the street mean children having rare contact with the families and third category is of the abandoned children those are orphans and having no contact with their parents or relatives. Actions to be taken for rehabilitation of street children -
.Conducting Non-Formal Education centers with the help of Non Government Organizations,
.Formulating special curriculum for their educational and vocational training,
.Providing shelter facilities for children.
