Sachivalay, Gandhinagar | | | | Motor Transport Workers Act.1961 | : | No:GHR-2007-43-MTA-2005-GOI-97-M(3):- WHEREAS the draft of notification further to amend the Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules. 1965 was published as required under sub-section (1) of section 40 of the Motor Transport Workers Act.1961 (27 of 1961). One page 21-1 of Government Gazette. Extra Ordinary. Part IV-A. Dated 9th February, 2007, under the Government Notification. Labour and Employment Department No:GHR-2007-12-MTA-2005-GOI-97-M(3) to invite objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby. Within the period of six weeks from the date of publication of the notification in the official Gazette.
AND WHEREAS. No objections or suggestions have been received by the Government in respect of the said draft notification:
NOW. THEREFORE in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (h) of sub-section (2) of section 40 of the Motor Transport workers Act, 1961, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1965, namely | | 1 | These rules may be called the Gujarat Motor Transport Workers (Amendment) Rules, 2007 | | 2 | In the Gujarat Motor Transport Workers Rules, 1965, in rule 22, after sub-rule(4), the following shall be added namely :
“(5) The employer of motor transport establishment shall arrange for medical check-up of every motor transport workers for HIV/AIDS, from time to time. Where cases are reported ‘POSITIVE’, the employer shall provide free treatment to such workers” | | | | | By order and in the name of the Governor of Gujarat | | (K.B.Vasava)
