Details of Boards, Divisions and CO-operations under Labour wing
Statutory Boards under Central Labour Laws :
The Contract Labour Advisory Board under the provisions of The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act 1970 for hearing the claims for abolition of Contract system in any process or industry.
The Minimum Wages Advisory Board under the provisions of The Minimum Wages Act 1948 for fixing and revising the rates of minimum wages.
Adivisory Committee for the purpose of providing increasing employment opportunity for women under the provisions of the Equal Remuneration Act,1976.
Statutory Boards under State Labour Laws :
The Gujarat Kamdar Kalyan Board, under the provisions of The Bombay welfare fund Act 1953 for welfare of workers.
The Cloth Markets and Shops Labour Board for Ahmedabad under the provision of The Gujarat unprotected workmen (Condition of employment & welfare) Act 1979, for maintaining the equal distribution of work to the unprotected registered workers of the Board and to provide them welfare facilities under The Gujarat unprotected workers scheme- 1981. The Board works for the area specified under schedule of the scheme - 1981.
Gujarat Unorganized Labour (Except Agriculture Labour) Welfare Board, Ahmedabad
Non Statutory Board:
The Government of Gujarat has constituted a non-statutory board namely “Gujarat Unorganized Labour (Except Agriculture Labour) Welfare Board” vide Government resolution No. UOL-102005-2445-M-2 dated| 6-2-2007. For the formulation and implementation of various schemes to provide social security and safety net to the workers of urban area engaged in unorganized sector, the said board has been constituted. And has coverage in Ahmedabad (Municipal Corporation). Surat (Municipal Corporation) and Jamnagar urban areas.
Registrations of workers are done with the help of NGOs & Trade Unions. Following are the region wise occupations of unorganized sector to which welfare schemes are provided by Board.

In the year 2007-08 & 2008-09 total 47,000 worker’s registrations have been completed Welfare schemes were initialized as full fledged activities for the unorganized sector’s registered beneficiaries.
Gujarat Unorganized Labour (Except Agriculture Labour) Welfare Board, Ahmedabad
During fiscal year 2008-20093 26,652 workers are registered and given unique ID numbers and identity cards for the purpose of availing benefits of social security/welfare schemes.

The said board is providing following schematic benefits to registered unorganized workers of three cities (i.e. Ahmedabad, Surat & Jamnagar)

Selection of Beneficiaries:
Skill Development Training : Selection of beneficiaries under this scheme is done with the help of NGOs and Trade Unions.
Safety/Tool kit Assistance : Individual registered workers are required to apply out of which beneficiaries are selected randomly.
Health Check-up camp and Awareness workshop: Unorganized workers are invited to participate in health check-up to take benefits of free health check-up, medicines and get information of medical Aid. Awareness workshops are organized with the help of NGOs and Trade Unions to aware workers about board and its welfare schemes.
Medical AID : Application in prescribed form is received to compensate medical expenses during hospitalization for minimum 24 hrs of the unorganized worker, Rs. 1200/- per worker is provided as medical aid.
