| Object | This Act provides for the welfare of workers in beedi and cigar establishments and to regulate the conditions of their work. |
| Applicability | It extends to the whole of India and applies to all establishments which are manufacturing Beedi or Cigar and for matters connected there with except the state of Jammu & Kashmir. |
| License for Industrial Premises | License is compulsory under the Act. Application for license shall be made in duplicate in Form -I along with details of premises to the concerned Assistant Labour Commissioner. |
