Vision & Mission

The Minimum Wages Act,1948 is the central Act enacted by the Parliament, Government of India. It is to provide for fixing minimum rates of wages in certain employment. Part II of the Schedule to the said Act is Employment in Agriculture which attributes any form of farming, including the cultivation and tillage of the soil, dairy farming, the production cultivation, growing and harvesting of any agricultural commodity, the raising of live stock, bees or poultry and any practice performed by a farmer or on a farm as incidental to or in connection with farm operations (including any forestry and time Bearing operations and the preparation for market and delivery to storage or to market or to carriage for transportation to market or farm produce).vision
Separate wing of Rural Labour Commissioner has been created on the recommendations by State Commission in order to give special attention for implementation of the provisions of the said Act and to ensure that 40% of the population of the state i.e. unorganized rural labourers are obtaining the minimum rates of wages.
