(a) Nursery Schools: The child education has gained much popularity. The parents want to send their children to Montessori schools. In those classes admission is given between the age group of 21/1 to 6 years. Each school is fully equipped with trained teacher and materials. The children in these classes are served with snacks. Periodical medical examination is also conducted with the help of local doctor and the medical report is passed on to the parent. The entire expenditure on these classes is born by the Board. The strength of admission is 40 children in each class. (b) Shishu Mandir : The pattern of the center as adopted by the Board provides only one Nursery Class at each center which is quite insufficient for the locality. The Board has, therefore, formulated another scheme know as "Shishu Mandir". It can be defined as part-time Nursery Class. Shishu Mandir is started is started by encouraging the local residents who come together and organize a class with assistance and subsidy form the Board. (c) Balwadi : This class is conducted
in the worker's chawl in a open veranda or under the tree.
The purpose is to collect the children of the chawl. The duration of the
class is 2 hours. The local body is selected
to conduct the class. The also given incentives to working
class women to learn and understand principles of children psychology
and also help them earn out of pocket money
which serve as supplement income to the family. The Board
gives grant of Rs.50/- p.m. Each such class accommodates not more than
20 children. |
